Thank you for the card, Linus. It was very kind of you to think of it. The charm was quite clever, and the dancing baby bowtruckles you sketched on the front made me laugh. It hurt a bit to la
I believe that Madam Pomfrey healed Lavender's foot and ankle the first night, didn't she? I haven't seen her since she was released from the Hospital Wing. Madam Pomfrey said she came in once when I was asleep, though (they gave me lots of potions the first day).
I'm so glad that those half-werewolf things didn't reach her. But it was really Mr Shacklebolt who saved us both.
I understand that you were quite heroic and saved a number of the younger students, too. I'm grateful on behalf of our House, and I'm sure their families are, too. Still, there were so many. I will miss my dorm mate Celia.
Cedric Diggory stopped by briefly to say hello, when he wasgetting the death list taking a message, and he said you were staying over to assist Professor Sinistra with some Arithmancy calculations to help protect the castle. So thank you for that, too.
Madam Pomfrey has said she will be releasing me from the Hospital Wing tomorrow, so perhaps I'll see you then.

Date: 2015-05-20 02:57 am (UTC)As to Lavender, the foot and ankle are apparently complicated items. Nevertheless, between Madam Pomfrey's skills and an easily reapplied stabilising charm, she does seem to be getting around much better now. (She is also fretting considerably less about the notion that her wobbliness detracts from her charms, at least ever since I pointed out that having a fair maiden swoon into one's arms is, in fact, standard in many romantic tales.)
I have it on good account that both you and Mr. Shacklebolt are to be thanked for the rescue, and you shall not escape your part of the credit! I confess that Lav's rather delirious initial account left me under the impression that she had indeed been clawed and bitten as well as receiving sculpture-induced injuries, and I was most relieved to be set to rights upon the subject. I trust your own healing is proceeding apace?
You shall certainly see me around tomorrow, at least at meals; every other waking moment is pledged to Professor Siz, who has a myriad of tasks and lists and the like to bestow upon me. It is good to feel useful, so I am grateful for such boons!
